A Child Called "It"
The book “A Child Called “It” is an intense book that can open up anyone’s eyes that reads it. Its hard to believe sometimes that parents actually abuse their children and sometimes get away with it. This book just makes me angry and can also make me cry.I caouldn't put it down because I have to know what the woman does next. When I was reading this book I was shocked I didn’t know what to say or do I was lost at words. It made me so angry and pist-off that I wanted to yell at this woman myself; it also made me sad and cry at times because it was so awful. I didn’t understand why the mother only abused him and not his other other brothers. I didn’t get why it was just him. I also didn’t understand why his father didn’t do anything about it like tell the cops, take the boy out of that home, or do something. The author Dave Pelzer made strong points. He explained everything in detail so when I was reading the book I could imagine all of it and when I was done reading it I was still thinking about it. When I was reading “A Child Called It” I always put myself in his position and imagined what I would have done. I know that he was a brave boy. Its not right for any parent to abuse their child AND get away with it. I liked this book a lot because I want to be a social worker and help children like this.

This post is thought-provoking, just like your mini book chat presentation was. I think the story really affected your classmates that were unfamiliar with it.

i liked how you elaborated your feelings towards the book. i agree with everything you said because well never know WHY she did this. I put myself in his position too and i couldnt believe getting beaten like he did.
